PAT testing for muscians

Important notes:

Why PAT test?

If you’re playing live with a band, you’re going to need your equipment PAT testing. PAT testing, or Portable Appliance Testing, is the examination of your musical equipment to make sure its safe.

PAT testing is essential for all function bands these days – wedding and function venues always ask to see your PAT certificate – they won’t be fooled by a fake label from eBay!. Many pubs are asking for PAT details too now, as pub managers become more aware of the Health and Safety legislation. A venue has every right to cancel your performance if you can’t provide a PAT certificate, so be prepared.

How much does PAT testing cost?

I offer a PAT test service for £3 per item. There’s a minimum charge of £30 (or 10 items), so you might want to club in with a mate or do the whole band at once. PAT testing is done at my office in Newark – convenient for Nottingham, Lincoln, Mansfield, Grantham and the East Midlands.

You’ll receive a PAT test certificate that looks something this. I’ll provide a paper or PDF copy.

If you need PAT testing PA equipment, please get in touch via my contact page.
